Message from the President

Hi folks, I was strolling down the west side of Yonge Street recently and took some photos of what I saw: graffiti-covered utility boxes, damaged and non-existent trees, improper ground material for growing trees, and a patchwork of pavement in need of repairs. BPRO has reached out to reps of the Yonge Lawrence Village Business Improvement Area (BIA), and the Bedford Wanless and Teddington Park Resident Associations who all agree on the need for better maintenance and a more attractive streetscape.

BPRO has also advised Councillor Colle’s office of the need to replace missing and rusted out local street and laneway signs. We have also pointed out that the most obvious feature of the parkette on west side of Jedburgh at Woburn are 3 large garbage and recycling bins! Compared to other parks in the City of similar size this is a sad state of affairs.

More than $1.2 million has been allocated for community improvement from the approval of 3180 Yonge Street and BPRO would like to hear from the community. What are your thoughts on the state of the neighbourhood? What would you like to see improved? What are the ways we can work together with the City, BIA, and other organizations to make this a better and more attractive neighbourhood?
